Friday Food Trucks On the Go

Friday, August 21, 2020 @ 5:00 PM

We’ve gotten lots of questions on when Food Truck Friday will resume. Our members have been working hard to find a solution that will allow the community to enjoy food trucks while also respecting state and local health guidelines.

The good news is, as of July 10, several food trucks will be parked in the top lot of the station every Friday from 5:00 - 7:30 PM.

While this might sound like Food Truck Friday, there will be some major differences in order to comply with current public safety ordinances. Because of that, we’ll be rebranding this event, at least for now, to “Friday Food Trucks On the Go.”

Once it’s safe to do so, we will get back to the usual Food Truck Friday we’ve all come to love. (Because trust us, we miss it too!) Until then, you can expect and will be asked to abide by the following rules when attending Friday Food Trucks On the Go.

_____

EVENT RULES

_____

1. Face coverings must be worn on EVFD property at all times (this includes waiting in line for food, waiting in line to enter the food truck area, walking in the food truck area, etc.). If you are not wearing a mask, you will be asked to leave the line and/or denied entry to the top lot. You will be asked to correct your mask if it's not being worn properly.

2. This is a carryout only event. Food may not be consumed on EVFD property, and indoor and outdoor seating will be closed.

3. Social distancing is required at all times on EVFD property.

4. Only 50 people will be permitted inside of the food truck perimeter at any time i.e. the top lot of the station. This means you may need to wait in line before you can access the truck area. There will be a designated entry and exit so we can keep track of the number of people entering and exiting the lot.

5. Congregating on EVFD property will not be permitted. This one is going to be tough. We know Food Truck Friday has historically been a community event where neighbors and friends socialize. Unfortunately, to comply with local ordinances and allow people to access the trucks more quickly, this will be a “grab and go” event only.

6. Our volunteers will be on site throughout each event to answer questions and enforce these rules. We will not be selling drinks as we would with a usual Food Truck Friday event.

_____

Please be patient with us as we continue to adapt to this new normal. We are confident that one day we will get back to the usual Food Truck Friday. For now, we hope this will allow for some additional dining options for the community in a time when eating has pretty much become the only thing most of us have to do.

P.S. While we know there’s a lot of frustration out there right now, please be cognizant that all comments and messages are answered by our volunteer firefighters. (So, please don’t be mean to us. We’ve got a lot on our plates these days.)
